Fruits & Herbs Infused Waters

A series of cold-infused water recipes to hydrate your skin from the inside out and make the best from summer flavours.

Drinking enough water is necessary to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out. But that doesn’t mean it should be plain water. Fruit infused waters are the best way to drink more water and freshen up your skin’s health adding some extra vitamins and nutrients to your summer beauty routine.

Once you know the method, it’s just a matter of inspiration playing your favourite combinations. The idea is to extract the flavour of the ingredients and transfer it into a liquid. The technique is easy as pie and already familiar for most of you: infusion.

Chop up some fruits, veggies or herbs, add mineral water and leave to rest at least 4 hours, overnight would be perfect. Strain the water of it’s going to last more than 24h and keep it in the fridge. Berries, citrus and watermelon work really well, fresh and dried herbs and edible flowers too. Some fruit and veggies peels like pineapple’s and cucumber will also work. Ready to start?

Cucumber makes a classic, combine 12 thin slices either with a few springs of smashed fresh mint or some lemon slices and dried lavender buds. Mango, use just half, peeled and cubed; add half lime cut in thin slices and a basil branch and you’ll have a sweet tropical water. More delicate palates will enjoy the combination of 1 tbsp of dried chamomile buds, 2 lemon slices and a dozen of cherries cut into halves.

Our top three: Watermelon with fresh mint, superb under summer heat waves. Granny Smith apple pairs delicious with fresh fennel, it makes the coolest refreshment. You can also try Grapefruit and Rosemary, a super elegant citrus and herbal water that is just a delight.

Pineapple and ginger; carrot, cucumber and coriander; watermelon, kiwi and lime. Any combination can be tasty, have a look at your local market for inspiration!
